im brand new to the game some of my older friends who played it back in the day wanted me to join and honestly the grouping is fine plenty of people are open to talk and group up and text chat even people on discord are open to talking in text chat while youre in their group so i really dont know what you mean by thats not how people play these days a big hunk of the community is literally playing for the nostalgia of that >.>

Looks good. I'm too old and stuck in my ways to have any interest in working for Bethesda (or any corporation, as an employee) but I am all for the creations system, as it works in Skyrim and Starfield, now. I just wish they'd put it in Fallout 4. It makes it so much easier to "add content" without requiring a new game version, which messes with the script extenders and many other mods.

Glad to see you still spending time on Starfield. Been working on this Mass Effect style Starfield-killer written by my boy Tim Anderson; well he said he'd write it a while ago so I'm counting that. Finally finished my latest, big client product, so I have a bunch of free-time now. I've been finishing up the UI prototype and I'm going to flick that demo your way, see if you're still down to do some typingcrafting for it. Hopefully your time in Starfield has you jazzed to do some sci-fi, first-person RPG writing.

I love these updates. I haven’t messed with the ammo crafting yet, but I do see it come up at the workbench. The first Tracker Alliance mission was fun and had an unexpected (at least by me) twist at the end. I spent 700 of the 1000 creation credits on the Creation Club “Bounty: The Vulture” mission, which wasn’t as fun as I’d hoped, but the Sniper Rifle is very nice when it’s not having the “reload” bug. Finally having a weapon with a long scope on it is nice. I’m not much of a hand to hand combat person, but I was able to snag a legendary Va’ruun Pain Blade and modify it enough to do some massive damage. Every once in a while it’s fun to get up close and personal with it. I forgot about the bounty scanner mode… I’m going to need to start using that in the cities. I haven’t loaded any other Creation Content stuff yet, but probably will at some point in the future. Right now I’m working on my ship building and outpost building skills. Look forward to seeing what you think of the update once you get back.

My only issue with the ammo crafting is you have to still buy the primers from vendors and there just isn't enough. I've really only been doing it for the grenade launchers.

I'm liking the random "Bounties" walking around, kind of fun to go up to someone and make the world a safer place for a couple XP lol

ah EverQuest II - a classic. I never played the 1st one, but I enjoyed the second. Played a dark elf shadowknight. I think I also played the shadow knight in the PS2 game... Champions of Norath? (The top-down hack and slash RPG, similar to Dark Alliance back in the day).

It's not rated R restricted fantasy, which is fine, if not completely understandable given the constraints of 21st century crap-tapitalism, but it's not made for my kids way back when they were 12, either, which is a huge FN plus for me. Make mine darker, baby. This aint my first rodeo and I've been on this trip too long to cater to my inner 6-year-old as much as pop-culture wants me to. My inner 30-year-old needs love, too.

I wish we could have had a character creator or able to choose male/female but it's not game breaking for me.

I too am excited for Dragon Age Veilguard to come out in the Fall of 2024. Here are my race and class options as well as romance options once I get this game for my PS5. Male Elf Warden, either Warrior=Champion, Mage=Spell Blade or Rogue=Veil Ranger. Romancing Harding Female Dwarf Crow, Rogue=either Saboteur or Duelist. Romancing Assan Female Human Shadow Dragon, Mage=either Evoker or Death Caller. Romancing Lucanis Male Qunari Fortune Lord, Warrior=either Reaper or Slayer. Romancing Tassh.

I bought this back when you were maybe on video 3 or 4 of your play through. But I'm finally getting around to playing it. I'm about 10 hours in and I love it. I love WH40k lore anyways, probably in my top 3 favorite lore. I've been wishing for years that someone could do something amazing with this IP like an MMO or open world/open space type game.

This timelock idea works really well for MMOs, at least for nostalgia and arguably for different experiences to enjoy or at least try. I wonder if other types of games could do this. Like Halo 5, which obviously doesn't get updates anymore, but 2015 Halo 5 was pretty different than 2017 H5 and 2018 was different from them both. My pc has decided it's old and EQ2 isn't working for me right now or else I'd be on Anashti Sul. You were around when my brother and I first experience EQ2 back in 2020. What a memorable experience. And while I've done the progression servers on EQ1, I've not done so for EQ2.

This game looks vibrant, reminds me some of Guild Wars 2. I didn't know the companions would be required in a way. Who knows when I'll be able to play this one anyway but if I can't I'll enjoy watching you play it.

I started yesterday as a completely new player after a long thinking because of the sub requirement. Never played eq 2 before more than 10 minutes. This is a completely different experience and I love it. The first thing is that I have the pleasure to discover a brand new old school mmo, and I feel like when I was beginning wow back in 2004. Everything is new and it's a real enjoyment to learn the game playing the newbie highland, taking my time, reading things, trying to understand all the stuff. By the way I'm French so it's sometimes more difficult. But I love that. The feeling of the game is absolutely stunning. I grouped a couple of times, with people willing to help and take their time to. What a good experience. It's actually a good thing that the game is slow : you remember all the things you do and all the locations. Yes, it needs that you take your time, but it's so much more rewarding and compelling than a fast food mmo like many I've tried before. I recommand playing this server for all adults who love old school feelings and want to discover a new mmo, I mean really discover and enjoy the process. Best experience for me so far since... I don't remember 😅. Ty renfail for all your stuff, love your channel, keep going!

I'm from Pandemonium on the Talon Zek PVP server of EQ1. I think I started around 2000? I played UO when I got out of the Navy in 98 and moved to EQ1. I never played EQ2 because it had no PVP when it first came out, and WoW very much did. I just created a Coercer last night, and I'm having a blast, personally.

I haven't played the game myself but I watched the developers GDC on this game before coming here and he mentioned that the matches are more like a half hour. I took a quick look through the top results on UA-cam and the multiplayer matches seem to match that half hour mark or even less. I imagine this is one of those situations where if you're the kind of person who likes the "intended" way of playing multiplayer that it would be a much more engaging experience than what you had but if you're the kind of person who likes to play singleplayer, and especially on easier difficulties, you will have a harder time being engaged with the game.

I really got into EverQuest 2 in 2019 and especially into 2020. I thought EverQuest 2 was a hidden gem and just had very bad luck. I am thinking about doing the origin server, but as you stated before, it does involve time commitment. I also play World of Warcraft (retail and SoD) and Black Desert Online, so I feel I am spread thin already. However, I have this urge to try the origin severs because I always wanted to experience EverQuest 2 when it was focused on group content.

I’ve been playing and have definitely noticed people asking in local chat and LFG channels for grouping. The biggest draw to the server is that it feels more community based and not just a single player MMO

In EQ2 can Necro's reverse kite like they did in EQ 1? Fear > Slow>Dot?

I love your gameplay and I am really looking forward to this play through. Yet I have one thing that bugged me this time round and maybe it is just my preference, but why did you just auto update your party? I was looking forward to your deliberation in that regard and it just felt from my perspective that was no thought there? I know it is easy mode and likely a cake walk, can you expand on why you took that route please?

Mage was definitely my favorite class for this game. Though Archer was a close 2nd… Didn’t really like the dual wielder but I think that was because, IMO, its combat was not as good as Dragon Age 2 for it…
